Description: "What is a pleasing offering? The phrase is used over and over again in the Old Testament regarding a spotless sacrifice that was prepared according to God's wishes and then offered up to Him totally and completely as a burnt offering. In the New Testament, Jesus was the most pleasing offering of all. He was the Lamb of God, unblemished and spotless. As He offered up His life in absolute and excruciating surrender, His words, from the overflow of His heart, ascended as a sweet fragrance to the Lord: "Father, into Your hands I commit my Spirit."
God's desire regarding the pleasing offering is still the same, but now the sacrifice is you and I. We are all being prepared. He has made us and is making us spotless and blameless, so that as we lay down our lives as living sacrifices, what rises up is a sweet and pleasing aroma to the King. Whether in the fiery trials of a fallen world, or in the burning flame of our worship, let this be the prayer of our hearts:
"I want to be a pleasing offering
This living sacrifice I bring...
So take my heart, my soul take everything,
Take my life my mind, my will take everything,
take my life my dreams, take everything...
I am your offering."
